Technische, medizinische und Patentübersetzungen. Kein Generalisten-Team.

Mandragora Translations was established in Munich in 2016 by a team of specialist translators who had worked in patent prosecution, medical device documentation, and industrial manufacturing for more than a decade before starting the agency.
The name comes from the mandragora plant, a medicinal herb with deep roots in European scholarly tradition. The plant is associated with knowledge, precision, and the kind of careful handling that rare or complex things require. Those associations felt accurate for what we do.
We work with manufacturing companies, law firms, research institutions, and regulatory consultancies across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the broader EU market. Most of our clients are repeat clients. The ratio of new to repeat business has been around 30/70 since our second year.
Our translators are specialists first and translators second. The engineering translators held engineering roles before entering translation. The medical translators have clinical or pharmaceutical backgrounds. The patent translators have worked in patent prosecution. We do not recruit generalists for specialist domains.
Anfrage sendenEvery specialist project goes to a translator with a background in the relevant field. Not linguistics graduates who happen to work in the domain.
Every project starts with a terminology review. Consistent language within a technical document is not optional.
Every translation is reviewed by a second linguist before delivery. Not for large projects. For all of them.
We are based in Munich and navigate German regulatory, legal, and industrial contexts daily. That understanding is part of every project.
